Deep Sea disconnections - Broadband

While we all believe that the satellites floating around the earth are responsible for the TV and the fact that we watch the Super Bowl in America across the Atlantic in the UK, the same can not be said for the Internet. The Internet is maintained by a vast network of copper and fiber - fiber optic cables and all connect to the Internet, there is some form of cabling infrastructure.

Many of these submarine cables, inrunning under the water, are well fortified with up to nine layers of components to ensure these vital cables are not disturbed. The problem is that the cables under the Mediterranean Sea have been divorced, was originally a cable linking Egypt and Italy was broken, but two others have been cut causing global problems with a broadband internet service disrupted in some Middle Eastern countries like Iran, India and Egypt.

The biggest concern was thedisruption of telecommunications in these countries, especially India, that so many people will know is home to thousands of call center outsourcing, BT was quick to redirect their network to cope with the disorder and reports say that although t ISN quality phone 'as clear as normal, it is still viable.

The problem is that small businesses with less detailed plans are suffering; Vikas Jain, assistant vice president at AEZ Group, a propertydeveloper said: "We have a lot of offices connected to the same way because the internet is down means we are cut off from headquarters,"

This problem is not the first of its kind, broadband and other telecommunications services in Taiwan have been stopped months in 2006 after an earthquake has succeeded in 7 of 8 wires for the Asian continent to destroy. Repairs are expected up to 10 days stretched to months to return to your speed. With the recent accident repair shipsare sent to the port before the situation gets worse repair.

The reason for this distortion? Apparently, the best guess is that a tanker had dragged its anchor along the seabed. The repair is probably a week since the release of repairs arrive, while the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt said that broadband services would be back in Egypt up to 80% within 48 hours after the initial deployment to be. We hope that the World Wide Web will return to powersoon!

What Is FTTP, FTTH, FTTB and FTTD? Fiber Optic Tutorial Series Four

FTTP stands for Fiber To The premises is a kind of optical fiber communication episode in which a fiber connection directly exported to customers' premises. P (local), commercial, institutional and other applications where connections are distributed on a campus fiber network, a forest, or building high-density with a central Network Operations Center. Some others, such as FTTx FTTN (fiber to the node), FTTC (fiber to the curb)still depend on copper wires for "last mile" (permanent link) for customers, which contrasts with FTTP. FTTP can be further divided in FTTH (Fiber to the home), FTTB (fiber to the building), etc.

FTTP network construction

FTTP network can be divided into two main parts: optical and electrical cross-sectional area.

1. Optical

optical part of the FTTP network is responsible for implementing optical signal to electricalpart (the electrical room is located in telecommunications customer). There are two configurations for the FTTP optical fiber. These are the direct connection of fiber and fiber shared.

direct fiber connection is the simplest form. A fiber is used for direct connection to the central office to a customer. This type of connection provides the customer with the highest bandwidth, but also the most expensive configuration. Shared fiber: a single fiber so that the centeroffice is shared by many customers. Only at the last moment, the fiber is split into many individual fibers to each customer.

There are two main competing technologies for the configuration of the fiber in common: active optical network (AON) and passive optical network (PON).

Active Optical Network (AON) is much more similar to traditional Ethernet networks. Must be electrically powered equipment to buffer and distribute the signal, such as switches and routers. Each starting signalThe head office will be led only to the client from the router or switch. On the other hand, the signals of customers buffered by the router at the junction to avoid conflicts.

Passive Optical Network (PON) is electrically powered to be used to buffer and route the signals. Instead of signaling the central divided and distributed to all customers, even those not listed. When the light signal arrives at the electrical andwhere it is converted into electrical signals by the ONT (see below), the ONT decision to retain or eliminate the signal depending on the destination.

2. Electrical equipment

electrical part of the FTTP network receives the optical signal and converts it into an electrical signal is then distributed traditional desktop computer through a network of copper wires LAN. This device converts the call of optical network termination (ONT). The telephone building systems, and LANcable TV system are then connected to the ONT.

Other FTTx

FTTB: Fiber To The Building. This is a reference to fiber optic data network linking all the way from an Internet service provider for the client's physical condition of a building.

FTTD: Fiber To The Desk .. FTTD shows applications that are distributed fiber connections from the central office to individual workstations or computers in a structure, house or building.

FTTH: Fiber to the Home. FTTH fiber network connections will be held at the Central Office for a residence permit, or very small multi-dwelling units.

FTTN: Fiber to the node. FTTN is also known as fiber to the neighborhood or fiber to the cabinet (FTTCab). It is based on an architecture for telecommunications fiber optic cables run to a closet where a district.

FTTC: Fiber To The Curb. This is known as Fibre to therebellion (FTTK). It is a telecommunications system based on fiber optic cables run to a platform that serves different customers. Every customer has a connection to this platform via coaxial cable or twisted pair.

As fiber optics work?

Glass fiber is used with increasing regularity because of the numerous advantages it offers compared to more traditional data technologies such as copper. But what is fiber optic cables to them effectively?

How are fiber optic cables are made?

Refers to the application of fiber optics to transfer data through light signals to transmit. Most optical fibers are made of glass or, less commonly, plastic. Glass is often usedbecause there is less signal loss over long distances with plastic.

Each optical cable is basically composed of two "layers". The center is called "core" and this is where the signals are sent through the light. Surrounding the core is the second layer, named as the coating. The coating is what keeps the signal within the nucleus, using a principle called total internal reflection. " The coating is reflective, leading indicators of light to travel through the core, while theprevent signal leakage or be absorbed by external components.

Single mode and multimode fiber

Optical components can be grouped into two main categories. The first is called single-mode fibers support a single propagation path, whereby a signal at a time. Single-mode be used for most communication links longer than 200 meters. Alternatively, there are multimode fibers. These usually have a core of large diameter and are used for short-range communication linksor for applications where high power must be transferred.

How is the information passed to the light?

The light signal transmitted through these wires is not actually a continuous beam. Rather, it is composed of short sequences of light signals. This process is derived from the Morse code, the communication system with a series of long and short of the individual values. That's because the computer code consists of only 1 and 0.

Fiber Optics offers many advantages over traditional wires, like copper. optical components, higher transmission speeds, higher speeds and greater reliability. They are safer and actually cost less in the long run compared to the metal. Unlike metal wires, optical wires are immune to electromagnetic interference, have a much lower risk of fire or shorts, and prevent cross talk between the wires next.

For these reasons, the fiber has become the best choice for many industries, including telecommunications systems,> TV broadcasts via cable and data networks.

Get On Your Broadband Speed

The Internet connection works at a snail's pace or you're just not getting the speed you pay?

This seems especially true when it comes to a group of moderately tech-savvy. Overwhelming, they say, do not get what they promised and they are angry.

However, there are two real issues here that I would characterize as frustration and disappointment.

On the one hand, a broadband connection slow or do notunlikely, can be a problem aggravated in line with everyday life: the frustration.

On the other hand, some people complain because they are not the speed of broadband has been promised that when they are notified: disappointment.

The three strategies are the problem, I of frustration when it comes to broadband offerings.

Before that, though, I just want to deal with disappointment. Many of the complaints come from a wide-band misunderstanding of how thefaster broadband works.

The majority of broadband that goes through copper cables, is sensitive to electrical interference and signal attenuation as we move further away from the telephone exchange. This includes a voice signal, but because it consumes much less often, are less likely to be noticed.

Do not think of broadband as a light switch, think of it like a machine.

You must consider that if on or off. A machine can often have a highmaximum speed, and that tells you something about his overall performance, although this may not be able to show that the top speed, even if you try.

In short, cast your disappointment, a focus on frustration.

When it comes to policies, which, as I said, the top three.

The first is to make the most of where you are and what you can get. Both BT and Virgin Media to offer broadband services and fiber today are much fasterof copper cable, so if you can get, go for it.

Second, make sure your provider is adapted to way to spend your time online.

Two broadband connections may have the same download speed, but it will actually download a file faster than the others. Why? Since broadband ISPs have traffic management systems that make use of the Internet a sort of priority over others.

Great game online, for example? That 's where broadband is for you.

Finally,Do your basic controls. Playing around with a modem to new channels, or that the microfilter is a big difference.
